Women of Achievement Appeal
We are delighted to be be supporting The Outward Bound Trust Scotland at our lunch in 2022. The lunch will take place on Tuesday 8th March 2022 in London.
Donations raised in our 2022 Women of Achievement Appeal will go towards the incredible work that Outward Bound do in supporting children across Scotland.
The data and analysis clearly shows that COVID has exacerbated the problems facing young people in Scotland:
- 1 in 4 young people live in poverty
- 4 in 5 don't get enough daily exercise
- 5 in 10 feels stressed or anxious
- there is an overwhelming rise in health and wellbeing concerns
- and an increasing attainment gap, especially for vulnerable children.
Outward Bound aims to equip young people with a stronger sense of self-belief, able to cope better with stressful situations and interact more positively with others. More than ever, in these times, young people desperately need these attitudes, skills and behaviours to make positive changes in their lives. Every year, over 5,000 young people want to come to Outward Bound Loch Eil. They're from 150 schools and youth organisations from all over Scotland and 90% of participants need some financial help to attend. Through fundraising this amazing charity raises money to support those who need it most.
The extensive evaluation that Outward Bound undertakes clearly shows that the courses have a very positive impact, with the increase in confidence transferred back to every day life. Please see the long term impact report https://www.outwardbound.org.uk/our-impact-outward-bound
