Women of Achievement Appeal
Unfortunately, the 14th Women of Achievement Luncheon was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic and instead, we asked our network of ladies, sponsors and advertisers to donate NOT to attend the lunch.
Thanks to their incredible generosity we raised £43,650 for Place2Be.
Place2Be is a children’s mental health charity that works in schools to improve the emotional wellbeing of children. Place2Be Scotland has been operating in Scottish primary and secondary schools since 2002 and it now reaches over 22,000 pupils and their families. HRH the Duchess of Cambridge is their patron, and in the film below she talks to Place2Be staff about the challenges of COVID-19 on children’s mental health.
A thank you from Catherine Roche, CEO, Place2Be
“On behalf of Place2Be I would like to say thank you for the incredibly generous support from the Women of Achievement, which comes at a time when our services are needed more than ever to address Covid-19’s impact on children’s mental health and wellbeing. The long term mental health impact of the pandemic is, of course, unknown, but your generosity is helping us to provide the support young people need and will put Place2Be in Scotland in a stronger position to continue our essential work in the future. Thank you again for all that you are doing to support the wellbeing of children.”
A thank you from Marina Novis, Chairman, Women of Achievement Lunch 2021
"Thank you so much to everyone who has so kindly donated towards this year’s appeal, despite missing out on a lovely lunch at the Caledonian Club. It is an incredible achievement to have raised so much to help support the wellbeing of children in Scotland. And a huge thank you to the Committee who have worked so hard and given willingly of their time and talents to make this NON lunch a success."
